Bulgarian, N. Macedonian gas operators outline directions of co-op

Bulgaria’s Bulgartransgaz and North Macedonia’s National Energy Resources AD have outlined the main directions of cooperation, Trend reports with reference to Bulgartransgaz.

Reportedly, the Executive Director of Bulgartransgaz EAD, Vladimir Malinov met the management of National Energy Resources AD, Skopje, North Macedonia. The meeting saw the debate of possibilities to expand the cooperation between the state-run gas transmission operators of Bulgaria and North Macedonia with a view to the development of the regional market of natural gas.

The construction of a second interconnector between Strumica and Petrich, the increase of the existing cross-border transmission capacity and the partnership in the process of construction of the liquefied natural gas terminal in Alexandroupoli will be the major projects on which the two state operators will cooperate. The Executive Directors of the two companies have been clear that the joint work of the undertakings must intensify to strengthen the cooperation and achieve an integrated regional natural gas market.
