From 96,400 tons of jet fuel imported by Georgia in 2021, some 57,700 tons belong to the imports from Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing to the Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia.
Last year, Turkmenistan supplied nearly 60 percent of Georgia's aviation fuel needs, establishing itself as the country's primary supplier of goods.
Turkmenistan is also Georgia's largest supplier of gasoline and diesel fuel.
Georgia imported 244,601 tons of gasoline and diesel fuel from Turkmenistan from January to December 2021, accounting for 21.3 percent of total imports of these two types of gasoline.
The Central Asian country ranked first among the largest gasoline and diesel fuel exporters to Georgia in 2021, followed by Russia (221,181 tons), and Azerbaijan (215,872 tons).
Last year Turkmenistan also became the main gasoline (RON-91 gasoline) supplier to Georgia in 2021.
