TEHRAN, Iran. Jan.29
Trend:
The Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation has approved to pay €73 million credit for Sirik Thermal Power Plant project construction in 2022, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.
Russia has previously paid €6.2 million to Iran in 2021 for the construction of the power plant.
Following the Iranian President's visit to Moscow, the Russian government allocated a €5billion loan to Iran that included €1.2billion credit for the construction of the Sirik Thermal Power Plant in Iran.
Sirik power plant is estimated to cost $1.4 billion. The Russian side has agreed to pay 85% of the cost and the rest will be paid by Iran's Bank of Industry and Mine.
The project is considered a key step toward stabilizing the electricity network in normally underprivileged regions in south and southeast Iran.
