Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas talks about progress on Kalamkas-Sea and Khazar project

Kazakhstan’s KazMunayGas national company and Russia’s LUKOIL PJSC intend to hold further negotiations on the Kalamkas-Sea and Khazar project, the company told Trend.

Chairman of the Management Board of KazMunayGas national company Alik Aidarbayev met with the President of LUKOIL PJSC Vagit Alekperov on November 16, 2021.

An agreement on principles for the Kalamkas-Sea and Khazar project was signed during the meeting.

According to the company, further negotiations on the Kalamkas-Sea and Khazar project are expected to be held between KazMunayGas national company and LUKOIL PJSC to determine the concept, details, and conditions for joint development of fields.

The companies participate in such projects as Karachaganak, Tengiz, Al-Farabi, Zhenis, in the oil transportation project of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, as well as in joint ventures for the development of Khvalynskoye and Central deposits.
