The volume of exported oil and petrochemicals via the Baku International Sea Trade Port’s Dubandi terminal in 2021 rose, Trend reports via the port's data.

According to the port, this indicator exceeded 1.1 million tons, up by 2.3 times compared to 2020.

In the reporting period, one of the largest growth rates in some areas was recorded in the transshipment of dry cargo. For example, in 2020 more than 711,000 tons of dry cargo were transshipped through the Baku port, whilst last year this figure grew by 66 percent and exceeded 1.1 million tons.

The number of transshipped containers increased by 11.6 percent and reached 45,025 TEUs.

The port reminded that in 2021, due to the continuation of border restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were certain changes in the directions of movement along international transport routes.

For example, in the reporting period, a decline in the transportation of heavy trucks by 8.8 percent was registered. Some 39,431 vehicles (TIRs) were transported through the port of Baku, of which 23,476 (59.5 percent) trucks were transported along the Baku-Turkmenbashi-Baku route, and 15,955 (40.5 percent) - Baku-Kuryk-Baku, added the port.
