The Iranian government has signed agreements for a total of $4.5 billion with foreign and local companies to develop seven oil and gas fields since President Ebrahim Raisi took office, said the Director-General of Public Relations of the Ministry of Petroleum Ali Forouzandeh, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"There have been efforts to develop downstream section and construct new refineries and attract investment," he noted.
The Ministry of Petroleum plans to develop upstream and downstream sectors. Iran is expected to complete gas transmission projects by the next two years.
The Iranian president has inaugurated different projects in gas transmission and petrochemical plants valued at 400 trillion rials (about $9 billion).
