The Turkmenenergogurlushyk (Turkmen Energy Construction) Concern of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan will conclude a contract with the Afghan company Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), Trend reports citing Turkmenistan State News Agency.
The corresponding Resolution has been signed by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The contract provides for the design, supply, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of outdoor switchgears at the Nur el-Jahad power plant, located in Afghanistan’s Herat Province.
According to the document, Turkmenistan will be able to increase the volume of electricity supplied to Afghanistan, as well as to promote the successful implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line project.
The TAP project involves construction of power lines from Turkmenistan to the provinces of Herat and Farah in Afghanistan and further to Pakistan.
