BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 4. The carbamide plant of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR is working nearly at full capacity, the plant’s director Khayal Jafarov said, Trend reports with reference to SOCAR.
He noted that the productivity of the ammonia unit and carbamide unit is 94 percent and 89 percent, respectively.
“The plant operates almost at full capacity. Currently, the number of employees at the plant exceeds 475,” said Jafarov.
The groundbreaking ceremony of SOCAR’s carbamide plant was held in 2011. İt was designed and constructed by South Korea’s Samsung Engineering. The plant, which was commissioned in January 2019, is capable of producing 2,000 tons of carbamide per day and 660,000 tons per year. It occupies an area of 40 hectares in Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park and has ammonia production, carbamide production units and auxiliary facilities.
