BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 6. Only one berth is operational at the marine terminal of the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), so the shipping is carried out at 60-percent capacity of the terminal, Kazakh Energy Minister Bulat Aqchulaqov said, Trend reports citing Kazakh media.
The minister also spoke about the berth that is currently on repair.
"There's a strong storm, and the divers can't work underwater in such conditions. To carry on with the repairs, a separate brigade is needed," he said.
“Repairs at the terminal would have practically no effect on oil production in Kazakhstan if they are completed before mid-April. There will be losses if the repairs last for a month," he said.
There is no political reason behind the shutdown of the CPC marine terminal for repairs, all issues are technical, Aqchulaqov said.
