BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 10. Iran's revenues from the sale of petrochemical products are expected to increase by 17 percent for the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), Director of the Planning and Development Department of the Iranian National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Hassan Abbaszadeh said, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.
The director noted that Iran's revenues from the sale of petrochemical products for the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022) amounted to $23 billion. This figure is expected to reach $27 billion this year.
Abbaszadeh also added that this year, Iran plans to increase petrochemical production by 15 million tons to 80 million tons compared to last Iranian year.
“Over last Iranian year, the country produced a total of 65 million tons of petrochemical products. Of this, 35 million tons were the final product,” he said.
The director said that of the 35 million tons, 10 million tons were sold in the domestic market, while 25 million tons were exported.
