Number of implemented projects in gas industry of Kazakhstan announced

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Kazakhstan is implementing 10 investment projects in the gas sector, the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov said during his speech at the Central Communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Trend reports.

According to him, the projects are aimed at construction and modernization of gas transmission system, gas supply of thermal power plants and of settlements, as well as increasing resource base of commercial gas.

The minister said that two projects are planned to be completed this year, six more projects are in the implementation stage. Work on other two projects will start in 2023.

"Some 17 investment projects in the energy sector will be implemented till 2025. Today 12 investment agreements on modernization of existing thermal power plants are being realized, reconstruction of cable network of Almaty is being made, and construction of the second transit chain between West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions is carried out. At the end of this year, construction of a combined-cycle gas plant with a capacity of up to 400 MW at the Almaty TPP-2 will begin," Akchulakov stated.
