BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. The reserves of marketable gas in Azerbaijan amounted to 20.406 billion cubic meters from January through July 2022, Trend reports via the State Statistic Committee OF Azerbaijan.
Some 86.3 percent of the volume was formed due to gas production, 13.7 percent due to the remaining stock of gas from the previous year, 31.8 percent from reserves of marketable gas was used for domestic consumption, 55.6 percent - for export, 2 percent was lost, 10.6 percent were left as a reserve.
According to the committee, 62.9 percent of natural gas consumed in the country was used for production needs, and 37.1 percent - was for the consumption of the population.
Gas consumption by the Azerbaijani population amounted to 2.404 billion cubic meters from January through July 2022, which is 1.9 percent higher than in the same period the previous year.
The population of Baku consumed 38 percent of the gas volume, and the population in Azerbaijan's regions consumed the rest.
