TEHRAN, Iran, August 29. Iran has launched ф gas pipeline project for transferring gas to Zarand Iranian Steel Company and Zarand Power Plant in Kerman Province, said the project director Farhad Hassani, Trend reports citing ILNA.

The project could enhance gas supply to Zarand power plant and steel industries and increase production, support development, and employment, he said, adding that the first phase of the project has been completed and a 40-kilometer pipeline supplies gas to Butia Iranian Steel Company.

The second phase of the project (a 37-kilometer pipeline) will kickstart after selecting contractors and finalizing all the details. The project includes an interconnection to Zarand Power Plant, cathodic protection station, receiver station and a CGS station.

In line with the government's plan to transfer gas to Iran's industrial and rural regions, the Zahedan – Zabol gas pipeline project has been inaugurated.

The pipeline will transfer gas from Zahedan County to Zabol County in Sistan and Baluchistan Province in two separate sections. The first pipeline section (Zahedan- Dashtak, 109 kilometers), has been installed and it will supply gas to the Zahedan power plant, Zabol cement factory, and cities located along its route. The second section (Dashtak – Zabol) is a 110-kilometer pipeline that will transfer gas to Ramshar industrial city and the populated city of Zabol.

The project was carried out by two separate contractors that accelerated the construction process.
