Iran expanding LPG exports

TEHRAN, Iran, August 31. Iran is working to expand the liquefied petroleum gas export by launching the marine LPG export project in Bandar Abbas, Hormozgan Province, said the Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Product Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Ali Akbar Nejad Ali, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Shahid Bahonar jetty in Bandar Abbas Port has the capacity to export 6,000 tons of LPG, he said referring to the newly built facilities for loading LPG.

"NIOPDC is the exclusive supplier of gasoline and diesel fuel and diverse products could lead to regional transactions, gas swaps and export," he stressed.

The project to export liquefied petroleum gas from Bandar Abbas has been launched on August 24 to help prevent the annual waste of 2,000 tons of LPG that was burned in the past. Iran will annually earn up to $360 million from the marine LPG export plan.
