BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 3. Electricity generation of the Rey Thermal Power Plant in Iran’s Tehran Province increased by 8 percent, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Executive Director of Rey Power Generation Management Company Hamid Badorestani said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
According to Badorestani, the Rey TPP generated 1.8 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in 6 months.
"Of this volume, about 1.75 billion kilowatt-hours have been supplied to Iran's electricity network," he added.
The director also said that all power units of the Rey TPP are currently operating and transmitting the generated electricity to the country's electricity network.
Iran's Rey Thermal Power Plant has a total of 29 gas turbines and the generation capacity of this power plant is 979.4 megawatt-hours.
At present, 21 gas turbines of the TPP are operating and can generate 754 megawatt-hours of electricity.
