TEHRAN, Iran, October 18. Iran is seeking to develop the refining industry overseas, said the Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Jalil Salari, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
The NIORDC and refining companies are pursuing many projects overseas to develop the downstream sector, he said.
Salari underlined efforts to boost the export sector and secure fuel supply in power plants in the second half of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022).
According to the official, a total of 128 billion liters of crude oil and oil products have been transported by pipelines in the last year indicating 18 percent growth.
Iran's Minister of Petroleum has recently announced the launch of the first overseas refinery in Venezuela as part of the Iranian government’s plan to construct refineries in foreign countries.
