Iran likely to invest in Senegal's energy sector - ambassador

TEHRAN, Iran, October 25. Iran is likely to invest in Senegal’s energy sector, the Senegalese Ambassador in Iran Salio Dieng told Trend.

Senegal is trying to expand ties with Iran in construction of petrochemical plants, he said, adding that talks with Iran's Ministry of Oil and the NIOC have already been held, as sides are looking to expand ties.

Dieng underlined the possibility of Senegal eliminating visa requirements for Iranian citizens, adding that eliminating visa requirement should be mutual.

"Senegal issued a considerable amount of visas to Iranians last year," said the ambassador. "The number of visas issued were five times more than those issued by Iran to Senegal citizens."

The Senegalese ambassador also said that the process of eliminating visa requirements for several countries has started and Iran will be among those countries in the future.
