BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 26. The electricity generation of the Esfahan Thermal Power Plant in the Isfahan Province (central Iran) increased by 33 percent, during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through November 21, 2022), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Executive Director of Esfahan Power Generation Management Company Hossein Aminiyeh said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

According to Aminiyeh, the Esfahan TPP generated more than 2.55 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity within 8 months.

The director also added that currently, all units of the mentioned thermal power plant are in operation. If the needed water and fuel are provided, the station will generate electricity at its maximum level.

Iran's Esfahan Thermal Power Plant is located on an area of about 74 hectares. The power plant has 5 units and can generate a total of 835 megawatt-hours of electricity.

The thermal power plant supplies about two-thirds of Isfahan Province’s electricity needs.
