BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 3. Iran is currently building several petrochemical plants worth $3 billion in Ilam Province in the west of the country, CEO of National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Morteza Shah-Mirzaei said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

The CEO noted that the mentioned plants are the Dehloran petrochemical plant, the NGL 3100 ethane production plant, the Ilam Petro-Olefin plant, Bayat and Cheshmeh Khosh pressure boosting stations and others.

Shah-Mirzaei also added that the construction of the Dehloran petrochemical plant costs over $1 billion. The plant is located on an area of 200 hectares and is expected to be launched by March 20, 2025.

“Dehloran petrochemical plant will have the capacity to produce 620,000 tons of ethylene, 140,000 tons of propylene, and 43 tons of gasoline pyrolysis products per year. There is currently 37- percent physical progress in the construction of the mentioned plant,” he said.

The official stressed that the launch of petrochemical plants and facilities will create conditions for economic development in Ilam Province.
