BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 9. Iran's crude oil and gas condensate refining capacity increased by 5 percent, over the past 1 year (December 22, 2021 through December 21, 2022), compared to the previous year (December 21, 2020 through December 21, 2021), as was reflected in the report of Iranian Oil Ministry, Trend reports.

Within the last year, Iran's crude oil and gas condensate refining capacity amounted to 2,286,000 barrels per day, while in the previous year, the figure stood at 2,170,000 barrels per day.

In addition, Iran’s daily gasoline production amounted to 103,067,000 liters over the past 1 year, which is an increase of 10 percent compared to the previous year. So, the figure was 93,760,000 liters per day in the previous year.

At the same time, 114,014,000 liters of diesel were produced in the country from December 22, 2021, through December 21, 2022, which is an 11 percent increase compared to the previous year (102,081,000 liters).

There are currently 74 oil and 22 gas fields in Iran. So, 37 oil fields are operating in the territory of the National Iranian South Oil Company (NISOC), 14 fields – by the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), 5 fields – by Arvandan Oil and Gas Company (AOGC), and 18 oil fields – Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC).

In addition, 5 gas fields are operating in the territory of the NISOC, 13 fields – the ICOFC, 1 field – Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), and 3 gas fields – the IOOC.

Iran’s total hydrocarbon reserves are estimated at 1.2 trillion barrels. With available technology and equipment, Iran can extract 340 billion barrels. Thus, 30 percent of the country's hydrocarbon reserves are recoverable, while 70 percent remain underground.
