BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 12. A number of water pipelines, power transmission lines and substations as a part of 16 projects were put into use in Iran’s Yazd Province in the center of the country, on January 12, 2023, Trend reports referring to Iranian Energy Ministry.

Regarding the launch of the mentioned water pipelines, power transmission lines and substations an event was held in Yazd Province with the participation of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Iranian Energy Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian.

According to the report, water pipelines and dams have been put into use in Yazd Province within 4 projects.

In addition, substations and electricity transmission lines were launched in the province as part of 11 projects.

At the same time, 20 solar panels with a capacity of 5 kilowatt-hours each have been installed as part of another project in Yazd Province.

As a part of a project to lay a water pipeline from the Persian Gulf to Iran's Yazd, Kerman and Isfahan provinces, an operation has been started. Within this project, it is planned to transport 200 million cubic meters of water to the mentioned provinces.

The length of the mentioned pipeline is 720 km. A facility with a capacity of 1.2 million cubic meters will be built in Bandar Abbas County of Iran’s Hormozgan Province for the desalination of water to be transported.

In the first stage, 200,000 cubic meters of water will be desalinated daily in this facility. The needed funds under the project will be provided by the Iranian government.
