BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.20. Azerbaijan has lowered marketable gas production by 1.3 percent in January 2023, as compared to January 2022, Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee.
The country’s gas output stood at 4.226 billion cubic meters in January 2023, including 3.137 billion cubic meters of marketable gas. The natural gas output in Azerbaijan saw a 4 percent increase year-on-year.
The Committee data reveals that Azerbaijan produced 2.692 million tons of crude oil in the first month of 2023, including condensate, of which 2.686 million tons accounted for marketable oil. As such, Azerbaijan’s crude oil and marketable oil output dropped by 7.2 percent and 6.9 percent year-on-year, respectively.
The total volume of oil production in Azerbaijan in 2022 amounted to 32.6 million tons, according to the energy ministry. Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli block of fields produced 20.4 million tons, while the volume of output from Shah Deniz stood at 4.4 million tons. Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR) produced 7.8 million tons of oil.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan exported 26.3 million tons of oil.
Azerbaijan’s gas production stood at 46.7 billion cubic meters in 2022, showing a 6.5 percent increase year-on-year.
A total of 13.4 billion cubic meters of gas were produced from the Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli field and 25.2 billion cubic meters from the Shah Deniz field. At the same time, Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR produced 8.1 billion cubic meters of gas.
A total of 22.3 billion cubic meters of the total volume of Azerbaijani gas produced in 2022, were exported, which is 18 percent more than in 2021.
