BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb.23. Italian Eni company has reduced natural gas sales by 18 percent in the last quarter of 2022 year-on-year, Trend reports via the company.
Eni’s gas sales stood at 15.55 bcm and decreased due to lower gas purchases in Italy, in particular, in the spot market and the industrial segments.
The company increased marketed gas volumes in Germany and Austria, which ensured a 3 percent growth in gas sales across Europe and offset the decrease in other markets.
Eni also saw a 14 percent decrease in liquefied natural gas (LNG) sales year-on-year.
In the FY 2022, natural gas sales stood at 60.52 bcm, decreasing by 14 percent year-on-year due to lower supply from Russia and Nigeria.
The adjusted operating profit of the Global Gas & LNG Portfolio segment amounted to of €67 mln in Q4 2022 notwithstanding the expected reversal in market trends and lower Russian supplies, as well as higher expenses for contract revisions, partly offset by continuing optimization across the gas and LNG portfolio.
The segment’s adjusted operating profit in FY 2022 stood at €2,067 mln, replacing Russian flows with equity gas or supplies from countries where the company operates, and ensuring optimization of the gas and LNG portfolio in a tight market, while ensuring stable and secure supplies to its customers and managing financial risks.
