BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Iran's Eslamabad-e-Gharb Thermal Power Plant in the Kermanshah Province (western Iran) generated over 489 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), Executive Director of Bistoon Power Generation Management Company Masoud Mirza Asghari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

Mirza Asghari noted that the power plant generated approximately 20 million kilowatt-hours of electricity in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023) alone.

“Of the generated electricity for the 11th month, 19.8 million kilowatt-hours were supplied to the country’s electricity network,” he added.

The director said that there is a certain decrease in the electricity generation of the station for the 11th month compared to the 10th month (December 22, 2022 through January 20, 2023). The decrease is related to various repairs at the station.

Iran’s Eslamabad-e-Gharb TPP has 4 gas units, each of which can generate 25 megawatt-hours of electricity.

At present, there are 134 thermal power plants operating in Iran. So far, 612 power units have been installed in the mentioned power plants. The power generation capacity of Iran’s TPPs is currently 73,695 megawatt-hours.
