BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 27. Iran's Bistoon Thermal Power Plant generated about 3.23 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through February 19, 2023), Executive Director of Bistoon Power Generation Management Company Masoud Mirza Asghari said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
“Of the mentioned volume, about 180 million kilowatt-hours were generated in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2023) alone,” the director said.
Asghari also added that more than 163 million kilowatt-hours of electricity generated in the 11th month was supplied to the country's electricity network.
The power generation capacity of the Bistoon Thermal Power Plant in the Kermanshah Province (western Iran) is 640 megawatt-hours.
At present, there are 134 thermal power plants operating in Iran. So far, 612 power units have been installed in the mentioned power plants. The power generation capacity of Iran’s TPPs is currently 73,695 megawatt-hours.
