BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 1. The Shahid Soleimani Thermal Power Plant in Kerman Province (south-eastern Iran) generated about 9.48 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022, through February 19, 2023), Managing Director of Kerman Power Generation Management Company Ali Sistaninia said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.

“Of the mentioned volume, 32 percent was generated by the power plant’s steam units and 68 percent by gas units,” the official said.

Sistaninia added that Shahid Soleimani TPP generated over 552 million kilowatt-hours of electricity within the 11th month of the current Iranian year alone (January 21 through February 19, 2023). Of this, 66 percent accounted for gas units and 34 percent for steam units.

According to him, 541 million kilowatt-hours of electricity generated in the 11th month were supplied to the country's electricity network.

Iran's Shahid Soleimani TPP has eight gas units, each generating capacity of 159 megawatt-hours of electricity, and four steam units, each generating capacity of 160 megawatt-hours of electricity. In general, the power plant has the capacity to generate about 2,000 megawatt-hours of electricity.
