BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 26. Power generation of Iran’s Esfahan Thermal Power Plant in the Isfahan Province, increased by 13 percent, in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Executive Director of the Esfahan Power Generation Management Company Hossein Aminiyeh said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
The director said that the power plant generated a total of 3.29 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity for the last Iranian year.
“Approximately 175 million kilowatt-hours of the mentioned volume were generated in the 12th month of the last Iranian year (February 20 through March 20, 2023)” Aminiyeh added.
Iran's Esfahan Thermal Power Plant is located in an area of about 74 hectares. The power plant has 5 units and can generate a total of 835 megawatt-hours of electricity.
The thermal power plant supplies about two-thirds of Isfahan Province’s electricity needs.
Overall, Iran’s thermal power plants generated approximately 333 million megawatt-hours of electricity over the last Iranian year, which is an increase of 3 percent compared to the preceding Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022).
