BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 24. Iran’s Bandar Abbas Thermal Power Plant in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) generated over 374 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, during the first month of the current Iranian year (March 21 through April 20, 2023), Head of the Bandar Abbas TPP, Dariush Mahmoudi said, Trend reports citing Iranian Energy Ministry.
According to Mahmoudi, of the mentioned volume, over 367 million kilowatt-hours were generated by steam units, while 7 million kilowatt-hours – by gas units.
The official added that currently, 3 steam and 2 gas units of the Bandar Abbas TPP are under operation. Meanwhile, steam unit No. 4 of the mentioned thermal power plant is being overhauled to be ready for operation in the summer.
The Bandar Abbas TPP is one of the main thermal power plants in Iran. The power generation capacity of this power plant is 1,330 megawatt-hours.
The power plant has 4 steam units, with each unit's generation capacity of 320 megawatt hours, and 2 gas units, with a generation capacity of 25 megawatt-hours each.
