BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 14. The net income of Iran’s Shazand Oil Refining Company was 300 trillion rials (about $7.14 billion), over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), head of the company's financial affairs Yousef Ebrahimi said, Trend reports.
He made the remark at an event dedicated to the launch of the company's new catalyst in Iran’s Markazi Province on June 14, 2023.
Ebrahimi said that last year, the company's total sales amounted to 2.53 quadrillion rials (about $60.2 billion).
According to the director, thanks to domestic production, the Shazand Oil Refining Company prevented an outflow of 27 million euros from the country last year.
“At the same time, with the domestic production of the catalyst presented today, 7 million euros were prevented from leaving the country,” he noted.
The Shazand (Imam Khomeini) Oil Refining Company was launched in 1993 with the capacity to process 150,000 barrels of oil per day. The company currently processes more than 250,000 barrels of oil.
It also produces more than 17 million liters of gasoline and 12 million liters of diesel in accordance with the Euro 4 standard as well as 500 tons of propylene, 400 tons of granular sulfur and 2,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) per day.
On June 14, 2023, the catalyst of the RFCC plant was put into use at the Shazand Oil Refining Company in the Markazi Province of Iran. This catalyst accelerates the process of breaking down the molecule in the crude oil refining process. The catalyst is heat resistant to 800 degrees Fahrenheit. This catalyst is composed of 16 different substances. The catalyst was produced over 10 years with the cooperation of the Shazand Oil Refining Company and a local start-up company.
