BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. The US imported a total of 574,000 barrels of crude oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan in 2022, as compared to 93,000 barrels in 2021, a source familiar with the matter told Trend.
As such, the volume of exports of the abovementioned products from Azerbaijan to the US has increased by almost 6.2 times year-on-year.
The exports were carried out in March (101,000 barrels), July (237,000 barrels) and September (236,000 barrels).
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan exported about 11.7 million tons of oil and petroleum products in general from January through May 2023, which is 3.24 percent more in comparison with the same period last year (11.3 million tons).
In value terms, oil exports exceeded $7.2 billion, which is 10.4 percent, or $83.8 million less than in the same period last year.
Azerbaijan exported 26.3 million tons of oil in 2022 with oil production standing at 32.6 million tons.
