BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. The export potential of the Carbamide plant of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR stand at 400,000-450,000 tons per year, a source familiar with the matter told Trend.
The Carbamide Plant, with a designed capacity of 650,000 tons per year, was commissioned in 2019. The plant was constructed in Sumgayit by Samsung Engineering, incorporating technologies from Haldor Topsoe for ammonia production and Stamicarbon B.V. for other processes.
By meeting the entire domestic fertilizer demand, the plant currently exports more than 70 percent of its product stock.
Brazil, Türkiye, India, US, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Argentina, Columbia, Spain, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Albania, Belgium were the main export destinations of the plant.
Recently, the plant has started exporting carbamide fertilizers to Slovenia and at the initial stage about 5,000 tons of carbamide fertilizers have been sent to this country.
