BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. The production of Iran's Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company increased by 11 percent, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2022 through March 20, 2023), compared to the preceding year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Executive Director of the company, Sepehdar Ansarinik said, Trend reports.
Last year, the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company produced a total of 4 million tons of various products, according to him.
The director added that of the mentioned volume, 2.3 million tons were sold domestically, 975,000 tons were exported, and the remaining 725,000 tons were delivered to other petrochemical plants as raw materials.
Ansarinik also pointed out that the company's annual sales amounted to 547 trillion rials (about $13 billion) for the last Iranian year, which is 48 percent more than in the preceding year.
“Meanwhile, the net income of the company for the last year stood at 85 trillion rials (about $2.02 billion),” he said.
The director noted that currently, the annual production capacity of the company is 6.5 million tons and the income is $1.4 billion.
Ansarinik also said that the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company is expected to spend $3.9 billion within the planned projects for the production of chlorine, olefin, and aromatic products, and as a result, the company's annual production capacity will reach 9.5 million tons and its income will rise to $2.5 billion.
Iran's Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company is located on 270 hectares of land in the Fars Province (southern Iran). The company can produce 1 million tons of ethane, 1.96 million tons of propane, 1.57 million tons of butane, 1.41 million tons of pentane plus, 30,000 tons of Raffinate C4 per year.
The company can also produce 411,000 tons of ethylene, 118,000 tons of polypropylene chemical grade, 64,000 tons of polypropylene polymer grade, 26,000 tons of butadiene, 180,000 tons of vinyl chloride, 440,000 tons of ethylene dichloride, 63,300 tons of hydrochloric acid, 6,600 tons of bleach, 150,000 tons of heavy polyethylene, 100,000 tons of light polyethylene, 4,000 tons of artificial rubber per year.
