According to Owji, Iran is even ready to work alone on the mentioned field, as it has the right to do so.

"If the neighboring country does not want to cooperate on this field, Iran knows its duty and will not give up its rights in the slightest," the minister emphasized.

On July 10, 2023, Kuwait's Oil Minister Saad Al-Barak said that there will be no talks with Iran about the Durra field.

There is no room for negotiations with Iran on this issue until there is an agreement on the map of the sea borders on the determination of rights, this field belongs to Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, he said at the time.

The Arash (Durra) gas field is located in the Persian Gulf between Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The field reportedly contains 20 trillion cubic feet (about 600 billion cubic meters) of gas and about 310 million barrels of oil.

On March 21, 2022, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait signed an agreement on the development of the mentioned field. According to the agreement, daily 1 billion cubic feet (about 28.3 million cubic meters) of gas and 84,000 barrels of gas condensate will be produced from the mentioned field.
