BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 18. Azerbaijan exported 1,220 tons of oil bitumen worth $330,000 from January through July 2023, Trend reports.
According to calculations based on the data of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, it is 98.6 percent less in quantitative terms and 98.68 percent less in value terms, compared to the same period of 2022.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover increased by 0.91 percent or $274 million from January through July 2023 year-on-year, which is from $30.058 billion to $30.333 billion.
According to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan the exports accounted for $20 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is $1 billion or 7 percent less year-on-year. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 68 percent against 75 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports from January through July 2023 grew by $2 billion, or 27 percent, from $7 billion to about $9 billion on an annualized basis. The share of imports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 31 percent against 24 percent a year earlier.
As a result, the balance of foreign trade turnover, while remaining positive from January through July 2023, declined year-on-year by over $3 billion or 25 percent to $11 billion against $15 billion year-on-year.
