Turkmenistan continues to actively gasify settlements in Lebap region

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, August 31. About 22.3 kilometers of gas pipelines were laid in the Lebap region, located in the east of Turkmenistan, in the framework of the national rural program, Trend reports.

According to official data, 11.4 million Turkmen manats ($3.2 million) of the state's capital investments were allocated for these purposes. These important works were carried out with the aim of gasification of newly emerging settlements.

As a result of the work, natural gas began to flow to almost 600 private homes in the Lebap region.

Meanwhile, at the moment 211,731 households in the Lebap region use natural gas coming from the gas pipeline.

The energy sector of Turkmenistan is of strategic importance for the development of the country and ensuring its energy independence. Turkmenistan has significant reserves of natural gas, which makes it one of the largest producers and exporters of this resource in the Central Asian region.
