BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 2. The STAR oil refinery, which is under the ownership of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye, has curtailed its production of naphtha, Trend reports.
In July of this year, the facility manufactured 135,456 tons of naphtha, a notable reduction compared to the 149,068 tons produced during the same period in 2022.
Data from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) indicates that the refinery reduced the production of this product by 9.1 percent.
SOCAR Türkiye has ambitious plans to process more than 12 million tons of oil at its STAR refinery in 2023. Crude oil sourced from countries in the Black Sea region, Africa, and several other nations is utilized in the production of petrochemical products.
STAR commenced operations in October 2018, boasting an annual refining capacity of approximately 10 million tons. The facility has the capability to process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
