BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 28. In September 2023, the STAR oil refinery, owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye, produced 496,184 tons of diesel fuel, in contrast to 559,454 tons manufactured during the same month in 2022, Trend reports.

According to the Turkish Energy Regulatory Authority (EPDK), this signifies a year-on-year reduction of 11.3 percent in diesel production at the refinery.

The STAR refinery is anticipated to enhance its capacity to 13 million tons by 2024. The production of petrochemical products at the refinery involves the use of crude oil sourced from countries in the Black Sea region, Africa, and several other nations.

The STAR refinery, which commenced operations in October 2018, boasts an annual refining capacity of approximately 10 million tons and can process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
