BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 16. Gas exports from Azerbaijan in January 2024 amounted to almost 1.932 bcm, which is 7.6 times more than in January 2023, Trend reports, referring to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.

Azerbaijan's revenue from the export of declared gas in January 2024 amounted to $739.7 million (an increase of 5.3 times compared to the figure for January 2023).

Gas supplies in the reporting period accounted for 40.12 percent of Azerbaijan's total exports.

The growth in January 2024, particularly, was achieved due to the start of gas supplies to Serbia.

Azerbaijan generally supplies gas to such European countries as Italy (the main buyer), Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Serbia, and North Macedonia (the last four under small contracts).

Türkiye (via the TANAP and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines) and Georgia (via the South Caucasus Pipeline and the Gazimagomed-Gazakh pipeline) also receive gas from Azerbaijan.
