ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 6. Preparations are continuing for the construction of a section of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline on Afghan territory, Trend reports.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAPI Pipeline Company Ltd. Muhammetmyrat Amanov, at the Turkmen-Afghan Business Forum in Ashgabat city.
According to him, at this stage, work is underway with Afghan government agencies on plans to implement a strategy for the construction of a 150-kilometer section of the TAPI gas pipeline in the Afghan province of Herat.
Amanov noted that this segment will provide Turkmenistan's natural gas to local industrial enterprises and farms in Afghanistan.
Furthermore, he added that the Turkmen side continues to provide technical assistance to the Afghan side in resolving issues related to the planning of gas distribution networks for industrial enterprises and households in Herat province.
Meanwhile, Turkmenistan's Turkmengaz State Concern has completed the construction of a 214-kilometer section of the gas pipeline passing through Turkmen territory and has fully prepared it for operation.
