BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 15. Azerbaijan produced 4.773 million tons of oil with gas condensate from January through February 2024, 6.7 percent less than the same period in 2023, the data of the State Statistics Committee (SSC) says, Trend reports.
At the same time, commercial oil production with condensate fell
by 6.7 percent to 4.762 million tons.
According to the SSC, Azerbaijan produced 2.3 million tons of oil
in February (down 4.2 percent from February 2023).
The fall is mostly due to a decrease in oil output at
Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli, a critical component of Azerbaijan's
resources, due to natural geological factors.
Azerbaijan's oil production with gas condensate in 2023 was 30.19
million tons, a 7.5 percent decrease from 2022.
Note that, the Azerbaijani government expects the country's oil and
condensate production to be between 29.5 and 30.0 million tons in
2024.
