BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 27. Oil exports through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline from January through February 2024 amounted to 35.960 million barrels, which is 2.6 percent more than the figure of the same period in 2023, Trend reports via BOTAS International Limited (BIL, operator of the Turkish section of the BTC pipeline).

Of this volume, 17.042 million barrels were transported through BTC in February 2024, which is 7.3 percent more than in February 2023.

In 2023, oil exports through BTC totaled 228.811 million barrels (1.5 percent more than in 2022).

The increase is linked to an increase in the pumping of oil from Kazakhstan through BTC in March 2023 (almost 1.4 million tons of oil were transported through the pipeline in 2023).

Currently, BTC carries oil from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields, condensate from the Shah Deniz field, as well as oil and condensate from SOCAR's oil and gas production departments, and oil from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
