ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, April 22. Azerbaijan purchased a total of almost 23,400 tons of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan from January through February this year, Trend reports.
According to the data of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan, during the specified period, the volume of purchases of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan was 7 times higher than in the first two months of 2023 and amounted to almost 3,200 tons.
In value terms, Azerbaijan's purchase of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan from January to February of this year amounted to $8.8 million, which is 7 times more than in the same period of 2023, when it amounted to about $1.2 million.
Turkmenistan's share in the total volume of purchases by Azerbaijan of industrial liquid fuels from foreign countries in tonnage amounted to 40.8 percent and in value to 34.8 percent.
Furthermore, for the whole of 2023, Azerbaijan purchased 175,730 tons of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan for a total of about $72.2 million.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the first two months of 2024 amounted to $73.9 million, which is 29.6 percent less than in the same period of 2023, when it amounted to $105.1 million.
