ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, May 21. Azerbaijan imported a total of over 47,000 tons of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan from January through March this year, Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan shows that during the specified period, the volume of purchases of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan was three times higher than in the first three months of 2023, which amounted to over 13,000 tons.
In monetary terms, Azerbaijan's purchase of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan from January through March this year amounted to over $17.7 million, which is three times more than in the same period of 2023, when it amounted to about $4.8 million.
Turkmenistan's share in the total volume of purchases by Azerbaijan of technical liquid fuel from foreign countries in tonnage amounted to 49.4 percent, and in value terms, 43 percent.
Furthermore, for the whole of 2023, Azerbaijan purchased 175,730 tons of industrial liquid fuel from Turkmenistan for a total of about $72.2 million.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in the first three months of 2024 amounted to $96.9 million, which is less than half the turnover in the same period of 2023, when it amounted to $211.9 million.
