BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. Azerbaijan increased production of main types of oil products from January through May 2024 year-on-year, Trend reports, referring to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee (SSC).
As such, the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery in Baku produced 615,000 tons of motor gasoline during five months of the current year, which is 7.7 percent more than over the same period of 2023.
Meanwhile, the production of jet fuel rose by 20.6 percent to 267,700 tons.
Diesel fuel output at refineries from January through May 2024 was 980,600 tons, which is 6.2 percent more than in the same period of 2023.
The output of lubricating oils recorded a growth of 6.1 percent, bringing the volume for the five months to 27,700 tons.
Furthermore, growth was also recorded for petroleum bitumen with 94,300 tons (an increase of 18.9 percent) from January through May 2024.
A decrease of 8.9 percent was recorded for petroleum coke (lower demand) - 96,300 tons.
Moreover, there was a low demand for fuel oil (a drop of almost 70 percent).
To note, Azerbaijan produced 2.31 million tons of diesel fuel (12.3 percent growth), 1.464 million tons of motor gasoline (+13.4 percent), 594.4 thousand tons of jet fuel (+4.1 percent), 231,600 tons of petroleum coke (+10 percent), 59,100 tons of lubricating oils (+31.6 percent) in 2023.
