ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 21. Turkmenistan has received a new industrial inflow of natural gas from the Galkynysh field, located in the Mary region in the southeast of the country, Trend reports.
According to an official source, the drillers of the 'Türkmengazburawlaýyş' department of the Turkmengaz State Concern of Turkmenistan received an industrially significant inflow of natural gas at the 259th production well of the Galkynysh field.
The department's specialists drilled a well at a depth of 4,461 meters, where they received an industrial gas flow from formations between 4,461 and 4,350 meters.
In general, experts' calculations show that the well produces more than two million cubic meters of natural gas daily.
During the drilling and construction of this gas well, various pipes, fountain fittings, and column heads of the leading Japanese Sumitomo Corporation, which correspond to the geological and technological characteristics of the Galkynysh gas field, as well as high-tech underground equipment of companies from the US, were widely used.
At the same time, the gas workers of the 'Türkmengazburawlaýyş' department are currently actively drilling at the 260th and 265th production gas wells of the Galkynysh field.
Meanwhile, the Turkmengaz State Concern estimates the nation's hydrocarbon resources at over 71 billion tons of oil equivalent. This volume includes more than 20 billion tons of oil and more than 50 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.
