Russian oil company LUKOIL intends to consider the opportunities for drilling the second well on D-222 (Yalama) field in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian in November 2005, the SOCAR told Trend.

The SOCAR said that in autumn 2005 it was planned to carry out a regular meeting of the shareholders in Yalama field to hear LUKOIL’s further visions on the project development. В"Such events are held twice a year in accordance with the PSA,” the SOCAR said. LUKOIL is expected to inform on the structure of the second well and its place.

LUKOIL did not find commercial hydrocarbons while drilling the first exploration well on Yalama. The well was spudded with the semi-submersible drilling rig Heydar Aliyev with the depth of 4500 meters in the sea depth of 332 meters in the drilling point. The manifestation of gas was observed during the drilling with the application of the zero-waste system.

LUKOIL and SOCAR signed a PSA on D-222 bloc on 3 July in 1997.
