Oil&Gas Materials 5 August 2005 16:52 (UTC +04:00)

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has temporarily suspended, due to the growing demand of the domestic market, the export shipments of the cracked mazut, produced at the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery (former Azerneftyanajag, part of SOCAR) at the result of additional refining of the straight-run mazut, SOCAR told Trend.

According to the SOCAR spokesman, the entire mazut is currently delivered to the needs of the Azerenerji Joint Stock Company ((JSC), which does not enable SOCAR to resume export sales of the dark oil product through he Georgian port Batumi for Singapore Petrofarm. The last time SOCAR shipped mazut for Petrofarm was on 25 July.

SOCAR will be able to ship 5,000 tons of the cracked mazut for the Georgian market in August under the contract with French Total. SOCAR exported 64,900 tons mazut in July from the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery.
