PA Consulting Group regards as inexpedient the installation of a module power station in the regions of Azerbaijan. McNeill Watkins, the head of a working group of PA Consulting Group, said that a 450-MW capacity, to be received through installing 52 module power stations, can be achieved after the construction of 1 or 2 energy blocs which requires less expenses and work on mazut or natural gas.

Watkins underlined that the media reports on the cost of the project the construction actually exaggerated the cost of the module power stations. "We did not carry out analysis of the cost of the stations, while we are sure Azerenerji JSC could acquire the station at cheaper prices,” Watkins stressed.

The expert of PA Consulting Group regarded as inexpedient the construction of new modules of the power station near the already existing energy facilities and ETL. For instance, it is planned to do it Khachmaz. The module power stations will be installed in Nakhchivan, Sheki, Astara, and Khachmaz.

However, Watkins noted that the installation of a power station in Nakhchivan will enable to cover demand for power. Besides, it will also improve the energy supply to regions.
