The ceremony of issuing of territory to the German Siemens Company to construct 506MW steam-gas device (SGD) took place on Wednesday. The Siemens delegation led by Peter Schwegmann, the head of the Siemens PG project on Europe, the CIS and Australia, is on visit to Azerbaijan. The delegation attended Sumgayit power station to get familiar with the situation in the site.
Etibar Pirverfiyev, the President of the Azerenerji, told the experts about plans. “We intend to solve the energy supply problem and increase energy export. Azerbaijan carries out exchange of energy with Georgia, Russia and Iran. The program will allow us to develop partnership with each of these countries,” he added.
Pirverdiyev handed over a symbolic key of the site to the German partners. Vugar Shahmuradov, the Director of the power station, and Georg Wiehn, the project manager on Sumgayit SGD, signed appropriate protocols.
