Since the beginning of the year the fund of active wells of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) comprised 6738, or 166 wells down as compared to period as of 1 January 2005. The wells of the oil and gas producing units of the Azneft Production Association, make up 4963, or 500 wells down as compared to the period as of 1 January 2005. In this period 240 wells were included in the Fund, while 940 excluded.
Since the beginning of the year the fund of active wells of the onshore joint ventures and operating companies comprised 1775, 534 wells more as compared to period as of 1 January 2005. In 2004 a total of 1241 wells were under the balance of the SOCAR. In this period 864 wells were included in the Fund, while 330 excluded.
